Ramón López Sánchez

Commercial Director | Business Development | Operations

My career has been built around one constant: taking responsibility for business, people and results in very different environments.

I have worked across distribution, consumer goods, education and services, holding roles in commercial leadership, international operations, regional management and full business responsibility. That variety has given me a very practical understanding of how organisations grow — and what happens when strategy, structure and execution stop being aligned.

My way of working always starts with understanding the business first: what is working, what is not, where energy is being lost and what really needs to change. From there, it is about setting priorities, making decisions and turning them into execution.

Today, I bring that experience to companies that need commercial leadership, whether in a permanent executive role, on an interim basis or through a specific transformation project.

¡Qué bello es vender!

I am also the author of ¡Qué bello es vender!, a book that explores the ABC of sales through a real story, with humour and substance.

I also write a blog of the same name, where I share reflections on sales, leadership, commercial management and business:

My journey

I have always been interested in understanding why some things work and others do not, especially when people, communication and decision-making are involved.

I studied English Philology and began my career in education. If someone had told me back then that I would eventually build my career in sales and commercial leadership, I probably would not have believed them.

Over time, I took on increasing levels of responsibility and became more interested in how teams are organised, what makes a business grow and why some commercial decisions deliver results while others do not.

That path gradually led me into sales, first through management and later through commercial leadership roles. Over the years, I came to understand that selling is about much more than closing a deal: it is about understanding the customer, listening, building trust, creating effective processes and helping a team move towards a common goal.

Then came team leadership, business development, international expansion, commercial networks and direct responsibility for results. Each stage broadened my understanding of business and shaped the way I approach leadership.

As my responsibilities grew, I continued to develop professionally in commercial leadership, business strategy, business development and team management. I have always seen experience and learning as part of the same process: doing, learning, reviewing and continuing to evolve.

AI and GitHub as a natural continuation

Looking back, my career has changed considerably since those early years, but one thing has remained constant: the curiosity to understand, learn and make things work better.

That same curiosity has led me in recent years to explore artificial intelligence and its applications in business. I am particularly interested in how AI can help analyse information more effectively, automate processes, improve decision-making and create new commercial tools.

Alongside specific training in this field, I have developed several projects of my own to experiment with these possibilities and turn them into practical applications.
